Here’s hoping you and those you care about have been able to weather all the upheavals of the last 15 months and continue to have the resilience to keep going.
Just over a year after we originally planned to print it, The Feminist Strip Club has completed Issue 2 of The GRIND!
Like so many other things, finishing the magazine went on hold when the pandemic started as we all tried to figure out what COVID-19 meant for strip clubs and erotic dancing, our communities and our individual lives.
Once some of those things were clearer, we got back to writing. Of course the pandemic also influenced the content of this issue, whether that meant expanding previously drafted articles about traveling for work or writing completely new ones about switching to online sources of income. But we also found some time and space for more visionary content like self-care tips for dancers and imagining future transfeminist technologies. And though we couldn’t have the big photoshoot we’d planned, we still found some ways to include dancer photos, art and images.
We hope you enjoy this new issue. Print copies are available for $10 (plus shipping) in our Etsy shop and at select brick and mortar stores including:
- Bluestocking Cooperative in NYC
- Downtown Books & News, Asheville, N. Car.
- Quimby’s Books in Chicago (also still has 2 copies of Issue 1)
- KNOW / HOW in St. Louis
- The Future in Minneapolis
- Fillin’ Station Coffeehouse in Mankato, Minn.
- Indigo Bridge Bookstore in Lincoln, Neb.
- Microcosm Books in Portland, Ore.
Know of another store that should have copies? Drop us a line.
Aside from those 2 copies at Quimby’s, paper copies of Issue 1 are all sold out, so if you missed it, you can download a high-resolution PDF, also at our Etsy shop for $3.
We’re already starting to think about content for Issue 3, so if you have an idea, get in touch!
